Swope Health KidsCARE in the Excelsior Springs Early Childhood Center
Good physical and oral health helps set the foundation for academic success … which is why the Excelsior Springs School District has partnered with Swope Health and The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) to bring pediatric and oral health services to the Excelsior Springs community.
Conveniently located inside the Excelsior Springs Early Childhood Center (500 N Jesse James Rd., Excelsior Springs, MO 64204), the clinic offers comprehensive medical and dental services for any student enrolled in the district, as well as for the community.
Medical Services include:
- Comprehensive well-child evaluations
- Childhood immunization and flu shots
- Physical exams for childcare, school or sports participation
- Care for acute conditions and chronic diseases, such as asthma
- Telehealth appointments
Dental services include:
- Cleanings
- Fillings
- Fluoride treatments
- X-Rays
- Exams
- Extractions
Pediatric medical services at Swope Health KidsCARE Excelsior Springs are provided by board-certified pediatrician Dr. Kenneth Thomas, with a team of nurse practitioners and pediatric support staff; dental services are provided by registered dental hygienist Shawn Oprisiu; and dentist Dr. Shea Durington. The clinic accepts private insurance, as well as Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP). For those who are uninsured or underinsured, Swope Health offers a discount fee program for all services, based on household income and size. They also provide enrollment assistance for Medicaid and marketplace insurance.
