Dr. Jennifer Harris named Cornerstone Principal
The Excelsior Springs School District is excited to announce Dr. Jennifer Harris as the next principal of Cornerstone Elementary. Dr. Harris brings extensive leadership experience and has successfully led Elkhorn Elementary for the past three years, supporting strong growth and continued progress for students and staff.
Prior to Elkhorn, Dr. Harris served as a K–8 principal in Grandview and has experience as a classroom teacher, math interventionist, and assessment leader. She also serves as an adjunct instructor at Avila and Baker University.
We look forward to building on the great work already happening at Cornerstone. Dr. Harris is committed to supporting our staff, partnering with families, and ensuring every student is known, supported, and challenged to grow.
Dr. Harris shared the following about joining the Cornerstone community:
“I am honored to serve as the new principal of Cornerstone Elementary beginning next school year. Cornerstone is a school where teachers work incredibly hard every day to provide high-quality instruction and meaningful learning experiences. I believe all children rise when we hold high expectations and support them with care and consistency. I am committed to collaborating closely with our dedicated staff, families, and community to ensure every student is challenged, supported, and known as an individual.
I also recognize that parents are their child’s first teacher and advocate, and I respect and appreciate that. I look forward to meeting families and working together as we continue the journey toward becoming a high-performing school through strong family partnerships.”
